March Weekend Round Up
Spring is coming and there is so much to do in The Triangle this month! One of the biggest events of the year for Downtown Raleigh is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 11th. This parade started in 1983 by Irish-Americans who were excited to share the Irish and Celtic cultures with our city. It was and still is run in its entirety strictly by volunteers and donations made by the public.
The parade starts at 10am downtown near Lane and Wilmington St. Then takes a right on Morgan to Fayetteville St. passing all the big downtown eateries and spots to be. Finally taking a right down David St. and finishing on Salisbury near 10th and Terrace. It should end around 11:30am in case you have other plans for the day, as well. It should not be a problem finding parking since all the public garages will be available, so come out and enjoy the bagpipes and all that the Irish culture has to offer in our beautiful city! Maybe you will even spot a lucky leprechaun!
Tracy Morgan will also be in The Triangle this month! Most known for staring in the Golden Globe and Emmy nominated show 30 Rock, he is now touring all over our nation on his comedy tour. He will be at Raleigh Improv the weekend of March 30th and tickets are on sale now! I know through the stress of work and every day life, it is always a great date night when you can get out and laugh together. If you go, I’d love to hear how it went!
Finally, I’m always reminding clients that the Raleigh Farmers Market is open year round. A lot of people assume fresh local produce isn’t always available in the winter, but there is always something yummy that is in season. Plus, there are so many other merchants selling locally made goods and gifts there! It’s still a must do in The Triangle no matter what the season.
Raleigh’s Farmers Market is open year – round, 7 days a week! There is plenty to shop for in their 15,600 square foot enclosed building. Let me know if you head there one day this month! Monday-Saturday 5am-7pm Sundays 8am-5pm
I can tell the weather is changing and we are getting closer and closer to my favorite time of year, but I really hope you’ve enjoyed the season of winter in my favorite city ever!
