Triangle Hidden Gems 💎 Part 2: Date Ideas

The month of LOVE is already here and I can’t believe it. February is one of my favorite months because it’s short, it means winter is almost over, but mostly because it’s filled with time spent with the ones we love the most. I absolutely love going on date nights or date days with my hubby, Jeremy. We always love good food that can’t be found anywhere else and the Triangle is such a good place for a foodie like me! If you’re looking for some date ideas for Valentine’s Day, or any day, this is a list of just a few places off the beaten path you might want to try!

Glasshouse Kitchen

Located in the heart of The Research Triangle, this is a brand new eatery! Glasshouse provides such a fun, fresh and colorful experience and it’s atmosphere is truly eclectic. If you are looking for somewhere different from your normal hangouts and date nights, this is it! Their menu items change regularly as they are prepared from scratch on site and use the freshest local ingredients. So if you do decide to go, check out the menu first to see what is offered before you leave!

The Green Light

In true Hidden Gem fashion, you’ll find this 1920’s speakeasy style bar hidden behind a secret bookshelf located in The Architect Bar & Social House. This speakeasy is truly an experience and brings you right to what you would think the 1920‘s felt like. With records playing in the background, the ambience is perfect for a drink or two before dinner with your love or join friends after for a night of fun. It’s located in the heart of Downtown Raleigh, centrally located to anything in the area and a really fun stop to add on to the end or beginning of any date!

CUYA Bar and Music Garden

Cuya is an absolutely brand new bar and music garden located in the heart of Glenwood South in Raleigh. I’m talking so new it just opened this January! Cuya, which is short for Maracuya meaning passion fruit in Spanish, is a second floor cocktail bar full of local DJ’s and specialty cocktails. It’s located inside it’s super hip sister bar, The Cortez Seafood and Cocktail Bar. This new hotspot looks like a fiery musical experience you won’t want to miss!

Baker’s Dozen Donuts

If we are going to talk about food stops in The Triangle, we have to talk sweets! Date days starting with food are some of my favorites, so next time you are planning something with your special someone add Baker’s Dozen Donuts to the front of it, trust me, it will make everything better! This little stop is located in Cary in Crossroads, which is a shopping center off of Buck Jones Road. But be sure to get there on the earlier side because they are known to sell out, especially on a Saturday!

Let me know if you end up checking any of these spots out this month as you spend more time with the people that mean the most to you!
