Triangle Hidden Gems đź’Ž: Part 1
Ever look for those special places the locals love when traveling or moving to a new city? I’ve always had such a hard time coming up with those just right spots you can’t get anywhere else, whether it’s a a coffee run, cocktail stop, or just that perfect place to get out and walk around.
We’ve got so many of those Hidden Gems here in The Triangle, the places the people who live here run to as their favorite places.
Raleigh Rose Garden is the place to stop by in the spring. The roses in full bloom are not to be missed…. Bring a blanket and have the perfect picnic! It’s located behind Little Raleigh Theater and it’s open seven days a week. It’s listed as a Unique Venue with 60 varieties of roses.
Another Hidden Gem that has two of my absolute favorite things, live music AND good food! Berkeley Cafe is definitely one that’s more of the “hidden” type because it’s entrance can easily be missed. It’s located across from Nash Square Park in Raleigh. People come for the awesome live music, but stay for the amazing food, too. I mean just LOOK at this burger! The whole place has such a great vibe, check it out if you can!
I truly love being outside…when it isn’t cold! If you’re like me and always on the hunt for fun outdoor spots to move your body, Robertson MillPond Preserve is a great spot tucked away in Wendell. The bald cypress habitat is really peaceful and serene, just outside of the urban life that downtown Raleigh brings. I love the option to bring your paddle board with the marked 1.15 miles of trail. Amazing backdrop in the spring and summer.
I’d love to hear from you if you end up checking out one of these spots and… I’ve got more on my list too, so be on the lookout for more restaurants, coffee stops and places to be here in the Triangle!
