My Favorite: Cabinet Hardware

When walking through a home one of my favorite things to notice is the details. Details build character and make a home feel like home in my opinion. One of the best details to take your time on is cabinet hardware in your bathrooms, laundry room and kitchen. Going through many homes that do not have this detail, I can tell you it really leaves an unfinished feel. Plus, there are so many positive reasons adding simple hardware to your cabinets is something you can and should do!

EIGHT Reasons why you should add hardware to your cabinets:

Reason #1: Style and Personalization - Choosing what type of hardware you like really extenuates your style in your home. From the style, to the shape and finish of the hardware, it truly helps establish your unique taste and makes your house more like your home. I’ve shared some of my favorite styles and finishes below from my Amazon storefront. Check them out and see if any inspire your style!

Reason #2: Easy and Affordable - If you are looking to give your house an affordable facelift without breaking the bank, this is a great option! Changing out dated less stylish hardware all over your home will give it an updated feel instantly!

Reason #3: Functional Enhancements - But hardware isn’t just about the look you are going for in your home, they provide true functionality within your space. Knobs and pulls make opening and closing cabinets much easier! AND you can add soft closing mechanisms to all of them too, for an even more upgraded touch!

Reason #4: Mixing and Matching - You can totally mix and match all different hardware, too! Finishes and styles do not have to be uniform throughout your home if your style is more eclectic. Once again, your home is a reflection of you and your style and you can showcase it with the hardware you choose!

Reason #5: Durability and Longevity - Quality cabinet hardware is made to last a lifetime. Choosing knobs or handles that are maybe just a step above another style or finish is the way to go. You are going to be using them multiple times a day, so try not to go on the super cheap side. I’ve picked out sturdy materials like brass and stainless steel below to give you a good guide on where to start your search!

Reason #6: Quick and Easy Installation - A project like switching out your hardware doesn’t require a ton of knowledge, skill and experience to do. It also only takes a short time to switch or even install if you’re starting from scratch. Choose your hardware and once they arrive on your doorstep they can be installed within the hour! Convenient and quick!

Reason #7: Versatility - We’ve been talking a lot about hardware with kitchen, bathroom and laundry rooms in mind, but you can also replace dressers, chests and other furniture pieces throughout your home! If you are going for more of a uniform look, all your pulls and knobs could match throughout your entire home!

Reason #8: Increased Resale Value - Finally, and maybe the one you were hoping to hear the most, upgrading your hardware is definitely going to increase your value of your home. Potential buyers really notice details and the pulls/knobs you choose in the rooms that sell your home (bathrooms and kitchens) have a huge impact. Even think about door knobs you’re using for each door in the house!
